CONNECT Consortium Meeting in Villach: Preparing for the final chapter

26 June, 2025

From 12th-13th June 2025 the CONNECT consortium gathered in Villach, Austria for a two-day project meeting focused on preparing for the final phase of the project. With the project closure scheduled for August 2025, the meeting provided an essential opportunity to align on the last deliverables, to demonstrate progress on our technical solutions, and to plan the final dissemination activities.

The meeting kicked off with a deep dive into the core technical components of CONNECT. The first morning was dedicated to reviewing the experimentation activities related to the Trust Assessment Framework (TAF) – the heart of CONNECT’s approach to trustworthy, secure, and cooperative connected mobility. In addition to TAF, discussions covered other key elements such as the Trust Level Evaluation Engine (TLEE), Adaptive Behavior and Safety Control (ABSC), blockchain-based trust logging, and task offloading to the MEC. All of these advancements are documented in three technical deliverables that are currently being finalized for submission to the European Commission, and will be made publicly available once approved.

In the afternoon, the spotlight shifted to the project’s three use casesIntersection Movement Assist (IMA), Slow-Moving Traffic Detection (SMTD), and Cooperative Adaptive Cruise Control (C-ACC). Each use case team reported on the integration status of their use case with the TAF and the progress made in implementing realistic CCAM scenarios that demonstrate the value of CONNECT’s technical solutions.

The second day began with a General Assembly meeting, where partners discussed the work needed for final reporting. This was followed by detailed planning for the final review meeting, particularly how to showcase the use cases and technical components both to the European Commission and a wider audience of stakeholders. A key outcome of these discussions was the decision to organize a final project event, which will serve as CONNECT’s official closing.

📅 Save the Date: 22nd September 2025, 9:00–13:00 CEST (ONLINE) — More details will follow soon!

The meeting concluded with preparations for a joint scientific publication that will compile and present the project’s major research results in a single, comprehensive document. This publication will highlight CONNECT’s contribution to advancing trust-based data sharing and cybersecurity in CCAM ecosystems.

We thank our coordinator and host Technikon in Villach and all partners for their active contributions and look forward to the final months of CONNECT!
